With the continuous development of double glass in the photovoltaic industry, transparent backboards will be the main trend in the future

In the future, with global climate change and the increasing depletion of fossil fuels, the development and utilization of renewable energy will receive more attention from the international community. Among them, photovoltaic, with its advantages of rich reserves, fast cost reduction, and green economy, has changed from a “substitute” position to an “alternative energy” and become the main source of future human energy supply. It can be foreseen that the cumulative installed capacity of global photovoltaic will continue to grow rapidly.

With the popularization of double-sided battery technology, the proportion of double-sided components is rapidly increasing. According to statistics, currently, double-sided components have a market share of around 30% -40% of the components, and it is expected to exceed 50% next year, with only one time issue before a comprehensive outbreak occurs.

With the continuous increase in market share of double-sided components, the use of diversified materials to meet supply, differentiated products to meet customer needs, and reduced installation costs, the use of transparent backplates has been put on the agenda. Compared to double-glass components, component products that use transparent backplates mainly have the following advantages:

1. In terms of power generation:

① The surface area of the back panel is less gray, and the glass surface is more prone to dust accumulation and mud spots, which affects the power generation gain;

② The transparent backplane component has a lower operating temperature;

2. Application:

① The transparent back panel component is consistent with traditional single sided components, ensuring stable and reliable installation;

② Lightweight, easy to install, with few hidden cracks;

③ Easy to clean and maintain on the back;

④ The internal stress of a single glass component is relatively small compared to a double glass component, and the self explosion rate is low;

⑤ The power generation is relatively high.

In terms of the power generation gain that power station operators are most concerned about, outdoor empirical evidence from the power grid provided similar answers at the Transparent Backboard Forum held in mid August. In different application environments, power stations using transparent backboard components have increased power generation by 0.6% and 0.33% compared to double glass component power stations, respectively. In the comparison of outdoor empirical applications, the average single watt power generation of transparent grid backboard double-sided components is 0.6 percentage points higher than that of grid double-sided double-glass components.

We have intervened in the market for double-sided power generation components two years in advance and developed various specifications such as 80W, 100, 150W, 200W, 250W, and 300W. From a size perspective, the scope of application is wider and the requirements for the site are more flexible, improving the power generation per unit area.
